FRS established HSC traffic in the Oman
FRS betreibt seit dem Sommer 2008 zusammen mit der australischen Werft `Austal` einen Katamaranverkehr im Oman. Der Katamaran HSC SHINAS verbindet die beiden Städte Muskat/Oman und Kahsab/Exklave v. Oman. Vorteil dieser wasserseitigen Anbindung ist die Zeitersparnis. Lange Wartezeiten an den Grenzen von den Vereinten Arabischen Emiraten entfallen.
Im nächsten Jahr werden 2 weitere Verkehrslinien in zentralen Oman, von Shana nach Masirah island und im Süden, von Hasik nach Hallaniyat islands etabliert und durch 3 weitere HSC Katamarane ergänzt.

Inhaber des Katamarans SHINAS ist NFC (National Ferries Company), ein Unternehmen der Regierung der Sultanate of Oman. In wenigen Wochen wird der zweite Katamaran für diese Strecke, HSC HORMUZ von der Australischen Werft `Austal` ausgeliefert. Die beiden Katamarane sind mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 52 bzw. 56 Knoten die schnellsten Katamarane der Welt. Auf einer Länge von 65 m können die Passagiere zwischen drei Klassen wählen: Touristen Klasse, 1. Klasse und VIP Klasse. Neben Passagieren können die Katamarane auch Pkw, Busse und Lkw befördern. Auch verfügen sie über einen Hubschrauberlandeplatz und können somit für Rettungseinsätze auf offener See benutzt werden.
FRS fungiert als Betreiber der beiden Katamarane und stellt die HSC erfahrene Crew. Darüber hinaus sorgt FRS für einen reibungslosen Ablauf in den Häfen und an Bord. Neben den Installationen in den Häfen ist FRS auch für das Catering an Bord verantwortlich. FRS berät NFC in allen Bereichen die diesen Verkehr begleiten.
Als Marktführer im HSC Verkehr hat sich die FRS gegenüber 3 weiteren Anbietern durchgesetzt und die Ausschreibung der Regierung von Oman (GOSO) gewonnen. Direkter Vertragspartner von NFC ist `Austral`, FRS wiederum ist Subunternehmer von `Austral`.
Da so komplexe Ausschreibungen einen langen Verhandlungszeitraum mit sich bringen, hat FRS zunächst - wie allgemein üblich - einen Interim Vertrag. Es wird an einem 5 Jahres Vertrag gearbeitet.

Since the summer of 2008 FRS operates together with the Australian shipyard `Austal` a catamaran route in the Oman. The catamaran HSC SHINAS connects the two cities Muscat / Oman and Kahsab / exclave v. Oman. The advantage of this connection across the see is the time saving. Delays at the borders of the United Arab Emirates are left out.
In the next year, 2 further traffic lines in central Oman, Shana to Masirah island in the south and Hasik to Hallaniyat islands willl be established with 3 other HSC catamarans.
SHINAS owner is NFC (National Ferries Company), a company of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman. In a few weeks, the second catamaran for this route, HSC HORMUZ will be delivered by the Australian shipbuilder ´Austal`.
The two catamarans are equipped with a speed of 52 or 56 Nodes – they are the fastest catamarans in the world. At a length of 65 m passengers can choose between three categories: tourist class, first class and VIP class. Besides passengers the catamaran can also ship cars, buses and trucks transporting. Also, they have a Helipad which can be used for rescues at sea .
FRS acts as the operator of two catamarans and place the HSC experienced crew. In addition, FRS is in charge of a smooth running in the ports and on board. In addition to the installations
in the ports FRS is also resposible for the catering on board. FRS advises NFC in all areas concerning this traffic.
As the market leader in the HSC traffic, FRS won the tender and came out on top of against three other competitors. The direct contractor of NFC is `Austal`, FRS is the subcontractor of `Austal`.
